A couple of our friends live in picturesque Bungendore and they protect their Eucalyptus pauciflora (Snow Gum) habitat through a conservation agreement.
I have been fortunate to spend time on this stunning property, enjoying the hardy and charming environment. The property is dotted with stunning snow gums and often submerged in an elegant mist on an early morning.
After spending time amongst this enchanting and hardy landscape, I realized this tree is the next tree I must paint! And here it is.
This Snow gum leans as though pushed by the wind and still boasts twisted branches. Magenta stems and veined gum leaves, so much to be admired on this misty morning.
I see this as a natural progression from my last body of work called ‘Ochre Woman’ which was a collection of portraits created in a similar style to this.
I intend to complete a collection of Australian native eucalyptus trees, however long it takes.
